Stone to Gold

Welcome to “Stone to Gold”

Hello everyone,

I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Eka Sifon Bassey and I’ve been a single mother for over 13 years. If there’s one thing I’ve learned on this journey, it’s that single motherhood can be a rollercoaster of emotions. One moment, you feel like you’ve got it all figured out, and the next, you’re overwhelmed by loneliness and uncertainty.

Being a single mom to two wonderful teenagers has been the most challenging yet rewarding experience of my life. It’s a role that no amount of preparation can fully equip you for. The responsibilities are immense, and finding ways to stay sane and grounded can sometimes feel like an insurmountable task. But through it all, I’ve remained committed and responsible, driven by the love I have for my children.

People often tell me I’m doing a great job and that I look good, but what they don’t see is the effort it takes to maintain this facade of composure and strength. It took a lot to get to where I am today, and it takes even more to stay here. I’m still a work in progress, and that’s perfectly okay.

Recently, a dear friend encouraged me to share my journey with others. He said that my experiences could offer support and solace to those who might be going through similar struggles. And that’s how “Stone to Gold” was born. This blog is a space for us to come together, share our stories, and remind each other that we are not alone on this path.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope that through “Stone to Gold,” we can all find the strength, support, and understanding we need to continue turning our stones into gold.

With love,

Eka
